A brief History of the Kingman Railroad Station

When the railroad reached Kingman in 1883, the town soon become a major shipping and trading center for silver, gold and cattle.

The first depot was an old box car and the next was a 2 story wooden building.

There was an eating house on the north side of the track for people to get a quick meal. In 1901, Santa Fe built the Fred Harvey restaurant. The Fred Harvey Restaurant closed in 1938 and was torn down after the 2nd world war.

Five years later the wooden station was destroyed by fire and was replaced by the building we now have. The building was renovated & reopened in 2011.
